Huntington's Castle on the Bay

The Huntington Harbor Lighthouse, known to residents as the Castle on the Bay, had spent 20 years in serious disrepair, and in dire need of attention. With only a few years left before hitting the demolishing block, Janis Harrington, a long-time lighthouse enthusiast, rallied up enough support to form Save Huntington's Lighthouse, Inc. in 1985, a group designed to do just that: save the lighthouse and reverse the Coast Guard's plans.
